Admittedly, I dozed off a time or two while watching it, and missed the part where they explained what type of entity the book club women were. Also, which one was the leader, that they showed in true form at the sacrifice? At first, I thought it was Tobey's mother, but then they showed her in human form.

It wasn't explain well in the movie, but they were Lamia and her minions. Google it.

This film needed more money for a better script, better production. It was a great story, good idea....imagine it done over...
