Jeeez Everyone is starting a board. All this is doing is confusing people and diluting the number of people going to any one board. It's also time-consuming to go to all these boards & figure them out. I'll probably end up not going to any board. If it's not IMDb, I don't know if I want to post.
shareWell no one seems interested anyway but I am still going to open this board. I am going to have a few shows that you can discuss and then a general spot to post whatever you want. If you need to vent or discuss or announce something, there will be a spot for that.
I am just learning how to do this and it should be ready by tomorrow. I will keep adding to it as people join, if anyone does. I am surprised that no one but cinles replied about joining because a lot of people were complaining about not having a place to go. Oh well, we will see...
It's probably because now everyone has or is creating a board and it's board overload. I want a place just like IMDb where I can go and post about any show, not just Sister Wives, but who has the time to check out 15 boards, which I think I've seen - so far. Plus, will my friends be on that board and all these boards are diluting the traffic. I hate IMDb.
shareThat is what I want also. The new boards that look like IMDB don't have the database of info about movies, TV shows, etc already in existence so none will have the same functionality.
FYI, I have been checking some IMDB pages on other shows and I see that there is truth that trolls and inappropriate posts are causing problems. If you check out The Walking Dead TV series, or the page for the film, I Am Not Your Negro, boy are they bad. This page has very little of that.
I am not sure yet what I am going to do. Previously TV might be the best bet, that is until those new features promised by IMDB are created. I know that I will not be registering and posting to multiple sites. If others in this discussion group get behind a particular board than I would probably follow. It's a good group.
I hope IMDb is creating new message boards they can police and/or they're going to charge for them. That is my fantasy. 🐎 👈 That's a brown unicorn. 💗
shareI'm with Cinles. I'm not interested at all in joining multiple boards and having to go through multiple threads to get to the one I want to read and post about. I don't think I'm interested at all if it isn't very similar to here.
shareOk, I am fine with it. I was just creating a simple board. Proboards has rather simple boards where you list topics that may be of interest. Mine only has 3 shows right now and a general discussion where you can discuss anything you want.
I am new to this and only did it because I thought members here wanted a place to discuss SISTER WIVES.
Since I am not seeing much interest in it, I may just scrap the whole idea. It's quite a project to get it up and running and if no one wants it then a board without members is not a good idea...

Yes. It seems each board is creating its own new place to gather at.
All of my threads linked above have the same list of boards. I did that so that one board wouldn't be overwhelmed should a lot of lurkers/posters show up to figure out where they wish to go. You only need to check out one thread, guesthouse board.
This one is the only one that seems like it might fit what you're looking for.

I love message boards, and it's a shame to see them become obsolete due to social media sites. I don't see how anyone can choose them over message boards.
I was a refugee when the Oxygen boards were taken down. I was only on the Xena board there, so all the members on that board moved together to Whoosh.org's message board on ezBoards.com. (Now Yuku.com) And then Whoosh moved it's message board to Proboards.com to get away from all the trolls, so I'm old hat at saving/moving favorite topics.
I'm going to miss the IMDb boards more than the Oxygen boards though.
