Yeah, I've gotta say the lack of promotion, limited amount of stations and minimal amount of info about the show on the web isn't doing Elvira much good. I read an article with her a few months ago where she stated she wanted to appeal to a new generation, but I'm not seeing any effort to skew to a younger audience -- I mean, at the very least episodes should be available for streaming and there should be some sort of web interaction. There's a weekly plug for her website, but it doesn't include so much as a listing for the next week's movie.
And she's only been showing '50s and '60s public domain flicks, which are available in 99ยข bargain bins across the country and freely to anyone with an internet connection -- hardly a big draw. Matter of fact, the prints of the first two flicks she broadcast ("Night of the Living Dead" and "The Terror") were horrendous; they were so jerky it seemed like they'd either been downloaded from The Internet Archive or duped off a region 2 release (though "The Giant Gila Monster" looked a little better). The original "Movie Macabre" featured a lot of flicks that were barely seen before or since. I was kinda hoping to see some more obscure stuff like "Death Bed: The Bed That Eats," "Warlock Moon," "Humongous," "Brain Damage," etc., but it seems she's sticking with the tired old b-movies that've been screened 27 kajillion times in the past 50-60 years.
I dunno, on one hand I'm elated to have Elvira back on TV doing her schtick every week. On the other hand, I'm sorta disappointed that she didn't return in a bigger and better way.

I stumbled on Elvira tonight while flipping channels here in Los Angeles. It's on a small independent local station. It isn't even listed as Elvira or Movie Macabre in the cable guide. It's just the name of the movie "The Brain That Wouldn't Die".
I used to love her show back in the 80s. It's great to see her back with new stuff and she is still super hot, but she really needs to work on sharpening the comedy. It's a little rusty. MST3K savaged this movie. From what I've seen so far, she has been fairly safe and predictable. She was always funniest when she was laying on the innuendo and ripping into the movies. I haven't see any of that so far.
Being in the East and not having a body of past context to which I can compare the current episodes, I am elated to see Elvira on the air in ANY form. I always envied those on the left coast who got to experience the original showings.
BTW, that website that lists the cities, stations and times is inaccurate. For my location, it shows Sat. 2am and Sun. 1am, when it's actually on only Sun. 5am., so don't rely on it.
Anyone know if there will be any more episodes beyond the 4 that are listed currently? We just got the second ep here this morning.
Usually syndicated shows are picked up for a full season, and I can't imagine this one's any different. So I surmise she'll be around at least until summer 2011.
I saw Elvira's Movie Macabre feature Saturday night titled, "The Brain that Wouldn't Die". I had never seen that movie before and I liked it. Elvira is so funny, and I love the Movie Macabre into with the movie ticket being purchased and the gothic-looking concession worker with the popcorn and the theme song. It is redolent of 1980s/early '90s late night tv which I miss. In the 2000s, Turner South would sometimes air movies like those that Elvira hosts, but that channel no longer exists.

I'm in Canada, so I can't get her new show at all. I was able to download the "Night of the Living Dead" episode from a torrent. I haven't watched it yet because I'm hoping that more torrents will appear and I will put 2, maybe 3 episodes on a single disc.
As for her only hosting public domain movies--well, I sort of expected that. Although I've seen most of the movies she's going to host, it will still be good to see her take on these. I mean, I've watch NOTLD so many times, I'll probably just really pay attention when she gives her commentary.
I must be lucky. CW6 in San Diego. Saturday nites at 11.
