How to get sad ending in Bioshock 1?

I know this is the board for Bioshock Infinite, but the Bioshock 1 board at IMDb seems mostly dead so I thought I would more likely meet someone who unlocked the sad ending here instead.

I just got the Ultimate Rapture Edition and am having a LOT of difficulty getting the ending where Tannenbaum talks to you in the sad voice. I heard that you had to harvest SOME little sisters and rescue SOME little sisters, so I harvested the 1st and 3rd little sister I met and rescued the 2nd one, I didn't rescue any more little sisters until Point Prometheus yet I still got the Very Bad ending with Tannenbaum sounding very cross. Does anybody know how to get the sad ending or did they take it out of Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition?

PS: I noticed that the game is rather glitchy, on occasion it forgot that I already hacked a vending machine and offered me the option of re-hacking it. Could this be related to my inability to unlock this ending or is this a completely unrelated glitch? I should think it's unrelated, but sometimes I get paranoid over the littlest things.

I don't recall 3 endings in the first game, but it's been a while since I played it last. I recall a bunch of different ending (or variations) in the second game though. I think Infinite doesn't even have multiple endings, despite the whole "infinite" thing.

And yes I realize I didn't actually answer your question, but in my opinion none of the endings are all that spectacular. Just watch them on Youtube or something. They ain't worth the effort.

Ok yeah just took a quick look on Youtube. The "neutral" ending is the exact same as the evil ending, with different sounding narration.

Yeah, I know the neutral ending is nothing special but my obsessive compulsive video game disorder dictates that I unlock that one, too, and sadly all my efforts have been ultimately futile.

To my knowledge, there were only two endings with Bioshock 1 and multiple endings with Bioshock 2. Never knew there was a "neutral" ending.

Harvest one little sister and Rescue the rest and you get the sad ending

Really? I thought it let you away with harvesting just 1, but sad ending for 2 or more.

nope ive tested it one little sister and she has a sad tone

i can kinda see why because its just one, any more and she will get angry
one is just a sad kind of "why", if u kill more she will just get pissed
