possible spoiler questions

Hi guys
if you haven't beaten or played Infinite yet then please do not read any further.

I know the obvious questions have been asked to death I think everybody has been brilliant to answer the best they can. I have a couple of which one does have a spoiler.

Anyway here it is.

1. When Booker and Elizabeth go to find the gunsmith they find him dead as a result of torture and so they go through a tear to another reality where he is alive.
My question is when they go through another tear to find both him and his wife dead is it a third reality they join or have they simply returned to the first which in itself is now altered?

This brings me to my second question.
After discovering Chen Lin and his wife dead the Vox are now rebelling and another Booker has fought and died in their cause.
My question is if this is a 3rd possible reality in Columbia then how do people like Comstock act like they remember what has happened in the first reality when Booker arrives in Columbia and rescues Elizabeth?

1. Yes it's a third reality, separate to those already seen. My attempt to explain it:

Universe A: Chen Lin dead in prison
Universe B: Chen Lin alive, but insane
Universe C: Chen Lin and wife both dead

2. LOL I've thought about this a lot too. Short answer: plot hole.

Long answer: plot hole! We never return to the first universe, where Booker freed Elizabeth and then both disappeared in the prison. It's difficult to imagine how that universe changed afterwards, as for one thing, Elizabeth would never have attacked New York.

Did Comstock remember what happened? Daisy Fitzroy was shocked to see Booker alive, as he was a martyr in this universe, but Comstock didn't seem to be. Perhaps he suspected that universe's Booker's death was faked, or he didn't know he had died, or he suspected his prophecy- of himself being killed by Booker- would come about one way or another.

He remembered Elizabeth being freed by Booker, in that universe, because it happened in that universe also, by the martyred Booker. However, he probably didn't realise that the Booker who killed him was from a different universe. He probably didn't realise, either, that the Elizabeth who was with Booker was ALSO from a different universe. Who knows what happened to that particular Elizabeth?

See, it's not even certain that the universe where Booker kills Comstock is Universe C or not. It gets kinda murky after Songbird recaptures Elizabeth: remember that Booker was knocked out, went through a tear that sent him to 1984, then was sent back in time/to a different universe by old Elizabeth.

Thanks for that bud, I did a fair bit of reading of the game extensively but it was that scenario that got me a tad confused.
