How did Elizabeth know...

*SPOILERS*

I just finished the game yesterday and haven't stopped thinking about it since. What an incredible game. Unfortunately since the bioshock - whoch are story-driven games - series is disguised as a FPS I was turned off immediately from playing it. Short long cut short I watched one 'let's play....' videos on youtube and read about half the spoilers but somehow ended up reading practically everything and knew what happens at the end: booker = comstock, Elizabeth = Anna, she is your (booker's) daughter, she somehow kills songbird, etc. only thing I didn't know was that booker dies til I read it on the burial at sea DLC video on youtube (gahhhh!?!)

That rnding (though o knew what of what was going to happen), it blew me away. I've watched 2 almost 30minute 'explanation' youtube videos about it trying to understand more and have watched the ending at least 8 more times and watched other people's play throughs. I get most of it (I think) but I'm still a bit confused.

- how was the dead guy with the "don't disappoint us" sign in the lighthouse at the start of the game? Who rote that sign? Lutece/s?
- how did booker know it wasn't 'his' Elizabeth at the baptism? Right before the 2nd Elizabeth popped up on screen?
- how and why was it 6 months when Elizabeth left with songbird but by the time booker finds Elizabeth, she's aged extremely fast?
- how did booker foresee New York burning?
- touching back on previous question, if booker's Elizabeth aged and 'died', she opened up a new tear to another Columbia, wouldn't that mean there would be 2 booker's in that universe? Or did that booker die already?
- how did Elizabeth know that booker was her father? During those flashbacks she says she sees what's behind every door, etc. did she find it out that way?
- was Elizabeth born before or after the battle at wounded knee? I'm still a bit confused about the timeline. So: pinkertons>Elizabeth's birth>(refused)baptism>gambling debt>PI?
- at the end there was only one Elizabeth left (but not the one we explored Columbia with), did she survive? She killed booker, so no comstock but she lived on - as an orphan?
- after credit scene: booker died so how was he still alive? I'm assuming its not an alternate universe since if booker died, that would be all the all versions of him did too, yes?
- it's ambiguous for a reason I know, but did you think Anna (Elizabeth) was in that crib at the end?

Very lengthy post, I apologise for rambling. But this game is excellent. IMO it's the Inception of video games.

Great story, was slightly disappointed you couldnt interact more but story was amazing.
ill try and say what i think.
- I dont know who it was, it confused me too, but possible the Luteces did it, they didnt seem too 'concerned' with other people, but maybe they just hired someone to clear the way to the clouds.
- I think it was cos she looked different than before.
- Dealing with different timelines anything is near possible, and it sounds like Comstock drained her powers and used them himself to a degree, which he prolly used to speed things up before booker got there.
- All i can think is that he was connected to Anna/Eliz and somehow his memories had overlapped so much he dreamt of different worlds he was involved in.
- I think he left his own and came back to it, or possibly the one that was in that one had teared to a different one again, the possible storylines were endless after all .bit like sliders if u ever watched.
- Now this i really dont know and wonder about, it seems to make sense that he lost her and became a soulless type merc/soldier. But then he would have been a lot older too, so i was just unsure. Hell in a dlc maybe Ana wasnt even his original timeline kid. And who was her mother anyway.
- I thought the one left was the one we explored with, it looked like it was. But with infinite verses its possible it could have been the one that had to survive for the storyline to coalesce into what they became. But i believe her to be OUR eliz.
- Who knows thats why it was there, and the fun of alternate uiverses and playing with those things is so much fun.
- I think it's possible, Im curious if Comstock came from a timeline that never had a kid at all so their was just one left.

Thanks for replying, I liked reading your thoughts. I think at the end, there are almost as many unanswered questions as there are questions at the start of the game.

I thought the one Elizabeth at the end was "our" Elizabeth as well, then I went onto the BI wiki and it said Elizabeth was born after(?) the baptism or something, can't remember. So that would mean that if she drowned booker at the baptism (at the end) wouldn't that also mean she's indirectly killing herself? I don't know, this game is too confusing. Yeah I think comstock was in a universe where there wasn't a kid, because of all the trans-dimensional travel he did.

Since the luteces could effortlessly pop in and out of universes, does that mean there's only 'one' of them? Like in all the other infinite universes they don't exist except in comstock's universe where they appear and disappear?

I really need to play this game again and on 1999 mode. This game is so fun and IMO Elizabeth is the best escort/AI companion ever :)
