How did Elizabeth know...
*SPOILERS*
I just finished the game yesterday and haven't stopped thinking about it since. What an incredible game. Unfortunately since the bioshock - whoch are story-driven games - series is disguised as a FPS I was turned off immediately from playing it. Short long cut short I watched one 'let's play....' videos on youtube and read about half the spoilers but somehow ended up reading practically everything and knew what happens at the end: booker = comstock, Elizabeth = Anna, she is your (booker's) daughter, she somehow kills songbird, etc. only thing I didn't know was that booker dies til I read it on the burial at sea DLC video on youtube (gahhhh!?!)
That rnding (though o knew what of what was going to happen), it blew me away. I've watched 2 almost 30minute 'explanation' youtube videos about it trying to understand more and have watched the ending at least 8 more times and watched other people's play throughs. I get most of it (I think) but I'm still a bit confused.
- how was the dead guy with the "don't disappoint us" sign in the lighthouse at the start of the game? Who rote that sign? Lutece/s?
- how did booker know it wasn't 'his' Elizabeth at the baptism? Right before the 2nd Elizabeth popped up on screen?
- how and why was it 6 months when Elizabeth left with songbird but by the time booker finds Elizabeth, she's aged extremely fast?
- how did booker foresee New York burning?
- touching back on previous question, if booker's Elizabeth aged and 'died', she opened up a new tear to another Columbia, wouldn't that mean there would be 2 booker's in that universe? Or did that booker die already?
- how did Elizabeth know that booker was her father? During those flashbacks she says she sees what's behind every door, etc. did she find it out that way?
- was Elizabeth born before or after the battle at wounded knee? I'm still a bit confused about the timeline. So: pinkertons>Elizabeth's birth>(refused)baptism>gambling debt>PI?
- at the end there was only one Elizabeth left (but not the one we explored Columbia with), did she survive? She killed booker, so no comstock but she lived on - as an orphan?
- after credit scene: booker died so how was he still alive? I'm assuming its not an alternate universe since if booker died, that would be all the all versions of him did too, yes?
- it's ambiguous for a reason I know, but did you think Anna (Elizabeth) was in that crib at the end?
Very lengthy post, I apologise for rambling. But this game is excellent. IMO it's the Inception of video games.
