Would have been if not for gta5 and tlou . But in my opinon the year is ending and bioshock still sticks in my mind more then any game ive played this year . It was truly an epic great masterpiece so could be a shock goty . Id be happy if it did .. it deserves something . And i think should be rated higher .
shareYou cant rule it out being a GOTY when the year hasnt ended it yet. Bioshock is a game that is worthy of being a contender, regardless of whatever game is also contending or is most likely to win GOTY. So there is a chance Bioshock could end up being GOTY.
Besides, a game being declared game of the year is always subjective. While we can all agree that some games dont deserve and shouldnt ever be contenders for GOTY, like Cod, a game that can define year and displays much quality and depth than the rest of the contenders is a subjective decision. Everyone is going to have a game they think will be GOTY, and only time will tell what critics think truly defines the year of 2013 in gaming.
As we all know, the following gamers are exceptional contenders for this year's GOTY: The Last Of Us, Bioshock Infinite, and Grand Theft Auto 5.
The goty was dishonoured last year that was just plain wrong . But i dont think bio will get it i think will be tlou and game game of the year gta5 . Its a tough year and yo year has not ended which has been one of the best years for gaming . Close race really. But im not bothered which gets it really . Devolopers this year have out done themselves and got a lot to proud of . Plus next year the games from the previous year all get goty editions about 4 5 games dont get that i thought only the big prize counted .
shareYou will never know, that's why I am saying you cant rule it out completely. Maybe when Watch Dogs comes out, it will everyone by surprise and that will end up being GOTY. It happens, but just cause a game isnt GOTY,it doesnt make it any less important and it doesnt loose any quality to it. Bioshock: Infinite will be a game people talk about for ages to come, same with the other games I listed.
shareI have limited knowledge with this sort of thing in gaming but is there ONLY one GOTY title? I read someone say that they give out the GOTY title like there's no tomorrow (100+ GPTY's) which confused me. But I still think GTA5 is in the top 3 to take put GOTY: mainly because its rockstar north and the branding and scope of the game. It's huge! Not just the map but everything else favored into it.
shareYeah in england its the bafta game of the year award and the same ceromaney is the game game of the year . But always every year the games that come out the year prevoious get goty editions . I dont get that.when they never took the prize . Like batman arckham city it got a goty edition and never won it . Assasins creed 2 as in 2011 got an goty edition but never won . i dont get it
shareWell thats what I was saying, there is no one definitive game that will be claimed as the overall game of the year. Many gaming sites make a distinction and what game is game of the year, and sometimes they are different. Same goes with any other award show, ceremony, or listing. They are all subjective in nature. So even if Bioshock: Infinite let's say, does not win a BAFTA GOTY award, I am sure someone somewhere will actually claim it to be GOTY, cause it is one of the three contenders right now for being it.
shareYeah i rank it in the top 2 . Over the last of us. It was a great game but bio had more wow moments . And bio is a game where i really did not want it to end and play 3 times over . I never play a game over again. Bio was the only game i replayed again . But its my number one still . Over gta5 .

shareThere are so many outlets that award GotY that its bound to get something. It seems like every game has a game of the year edition released.
