System Shock question

Does Sytem Shock fall into the Booker/Rspture universe or does it stand on its own? The Rapture would be Equivalent to the Van Braun, Elizabeth's mother is equivalent to Shodan, etc I think that the two do take place within the same fictional universe and tht we will see more from the System Shock side of things in the future -maybe in Bioshock 3

I thought the same thing, constants and variables. Shodan could be alternate version of like atlas, or songbird or whatever.
