The Last of Us/Bioshock Infinite Paralells

It's surprising just how much these two game of the year contenders have in common when you really think about it.
-Lead protagonist voiced by Troy Baker.
-Lead protagonist tasked with protecting a teenage girl, who gives you weapons and ammo.
-Both of the teenage girls have special abilities.
-A relationship characterised by mutual distrust slowly develops into a father-daughter relationship
-Rebel force that is led by an African American woman.

For the record The Last of Us is the best video game I have ever played, while I'd describe Bioshock as a flawed work of genius.

That's a very interesting thought, cool!

I was totally thinking that as I was playing. It kind of felt like the bastard child of The Last of Us and Dishonored. (Even though this game came out before TLoU.)

Sorry, checking all the water in this area. There's an escaped fish.

There is one major difference. The girl in the last of us is just a human with a immunity. the other girl is godlike entity.

reply

Very true. The games themselves are kind of like that too... TLoU is like an organic world with a sci-fi additive and Bioshock is like a fantasy world where the extraordinary things are business as usual.
