Amityville: The Awakening Trailer?

A member on Blu-ray.com claims to have seen a new trailer for Amityville: The Awakening in front of this, but I can't seem to confirm its existence anywhere else. Did anyone else who went to see this get that trailer? If you didn't catch the title it's a haunted house flick with Bella Thorne.

I saw the trailer right before it got delayed last year.

Why do you ask about trailers before a specific movie here? All theaters don't show the same trailers... even if you see the same movie again at the same theater, that doesn't mean you'll see the same trailers. They are separate from the movie.

Clearly they're asking on a forum where people from many different theaters can talk about if their specific theater played this trailer. That's the whole point of asking many different people -- because like you said: every theater is different. It's like you answered your own question.

And you're wrong about seeing the same movie at the same theater and getting different trailers. Once you receive your hard drive of the movie, you're given a list of trailers that work best with your regional demographics (the same way that its decided what theaters get what movies and how many showtimes for each) and you put those together in the computer in the projection room and you set them to that hard drive. So even when that hard drive moves from screen to screen as the movie shows longer, it's still playing the same trailers. The ONLY exception is if the studio doesn't send you that demographic sheet; then you can pick and choose from a list that is still handpicked for that movie, just not down to your region -- and even then the movie will continue to show the same trailers that are initially picked until it leaves the theater. I know this from working the projection booth with my manager at the theater.

I worked at a theater and some trailers were "Attached to the film" and we could not remove them.

I haven't seen that trailer since I went to see Sin City 2 back in 2014

I saw a trailer for something called The Bye Bye Man- a movie in the "if you think it's real, it's real" subgenre of horror movies. But in my theater, no trailer for Amityville. Not the one with the 1/2/15 release date, or any new one.

Why do they give out letter jackets to marching band? It's not a sport! We all know it!

reply

Didn't see that one but my theater had the weirdest assortment of trailers before this movie: The Bye Bye Man, Baywatch, Fifty Shades Darker, and Passengers. Out of those four maybe Baywatch is the closest to subject matter for the audience seeing this movie, but the others are completely off base.
