How stupid/reckless of Kim and Marko's buddy to let him in...

So,

These two are back at the main site, and they see/hear that Marko who's supposedly believed to be dead has come back and ready to get into the ship.

His buddy just blindly lets him in and Kim doesn't say anything about being sure he's "normal." No precaution steps whatsoever.

Don't they teach security protocol and such about quarantine and unknown bodies coming onboard, etc?

So, the buddy gets drilled in the gut..serves him right.. geez.. pure stupidity.

First of all, Marko was letting himself in. He had already opened up one of their doors. Secondly, the report was that Marko was lost and presumed to be dead. To them, it looked like Marko had found his way back to base. Which he actually did. They had no reason to assume he was a zombie or had any infection. That would be a stupid assumption to make, since they have encountered no life on the planet.

They took plenty of quarantine protocols, but they were all useless, since the zombies were repeatedly breaking down every door that they couldn't open regularly.

Ok, fine, I can accept Marko opening the door to get in.. but it's stupid for his buddy to just not think "oh, this guy's been out for so long, how could he possibly still be alive/normal...something's not right."

Why be so eager?... why not take some caution and stay behind the inner door until he confirms that Marko is normal.. had he done that and saw Mark's face is decayed, might have given in a fighting chance... Apparently they didn't follow quarantine protocol (if any they had).

It's almost as bad as Prometheus, where that guy plays with that snake-like alien until it chomps his arm... geez, that's smart.

He knew Marko wasn't normal. He assumed there may be some brain damage or something and they were preparing the medical bay for him. When he saw his face was decayed, he did back away, until he saw Marko messing around with the power tools. Then he tried disarming Marko. They were trying to help him, because that is the normal thing to do. Not run away like a scared child. And they did try quarantining them shortly after Marko attacked him.
