Yeah the Riddick flicks are lame as hell.
^^ If you were
unfortunate not 2 experience Pitch Black (2000) & The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) in the years when they had come out... That's your loss, really.
Starting with the crash, the pilot desperation as they're about to hit the ground... For that awesome and unique (!) story to carry on, into an undead saga (somewhat unexpectedly!); honestly I've no idea what's not to like... Great to have lived it, personally couldn't be more grateful! =)
^^ However, as far as the last movie's concerned; the decision to attempt to appeal to the Battlestar Galactica crowd... Oh my goodness, epic fail. Besides the emotional attachment to Riddick, Vin Diesel (and the Vaakos, w00t!), pretty much everything in the last movie was more-or-less (entirely) lame (can't believe I'm saying it :))
So, in comparison (or not!), if Riddick (2013) is, like, a (5?) 6, or 7; then, The Last Days on Mars (2013) has
got to be a 6, or 7 (& really, if you separate it into its own sci-fi/horror category - with, perhaps, Event Horizon (1997) and such - one could be generous & even give it an 8, hehe).
Edit: Still, though, TYVM 4 Riddick (2013); for what it's worth!!
