Studio interference?

There are a few things wrong with this movie, such as a dumbed down script, poor plotting, and overall just pretty derivative, but I wonder if the studio meddled and prevented the movie from living up to it's full potential, or were the writers and director just not very good at their jobs?

I don't think so. This was a film with small production budget ($10 million) and small studios involved.

So it was a B-movie and I actually I really liked it. Way better than way expensive turkeys that have been there lately.
