Why don't they try to fight back?

Spoiler Alert.

Why wouldn't they try to take back the base rather than run away? Also, if you're going to separate from the group to go to the other base, why not take more than a flashlight? There were obviously ice picks and other weapons available. Why not try to defend yourself? It got to the point of completely ridiculous of just running away at every thing. While you had them down temporarily with the antibiotic *beep* decapitate that thing. They saw the other one come back after the injection and low and behold the one that got gassed woke up also to stab the girl with scissors. *beep* idiots. They deserved to die.

Infection. You'll notice everytime one of them gets into a fight with the zombies they get infected due to the pathogen being bloodborne. You cut off the head and the blood spray sends the infection everywhere. You get stabbed by a zombie you get infected, and they're stronger than you. Also, unlike you they don't have to worry about their suits being ruptured.

Ok, then .. how about when the zombies are unconscious, tie them up with mass rope/duct tape and put them in a quarantine room that can't be broken out, etc?

reply

There was only one zombie they found unconscious and they did tie him up.

What about the zombie in the decompression chamber when they wanted to let the gas/air anti-bacteria medicine into that chamber by letting the zombie in?

Also, why didn't they grab some weapons (hammer, etc) and as a group gang on each zombie and pond him to death (again) and then tie him up?

Basically, they were just running away like scared kids.. they had the numbers at the beginning.

I believe running away like scared kids and attempting to quarantine them is what you said they should do in another thread, isn't it? It's confusing for you to argue that they should do the exact opposite here.

Even having the numbers advantage, these zombies don't feel pain and only needed to scratch or bleed on you in order to infect you. Hitting them with hammers would have resulted in blood splattering on the humans and infecting them, creating more zombies. Fighting back wasn't really an option, because they knew it would result in more deaths.

And we also have to take into consideration, that their first instinct is to explore the options to save the lives of the people who were infected. Not to instantly kill them, just because they are sick.

When I said quarantine, I mean when they first encountered the decayed Marko.

After that event, it should have been to fight back and disable the zombies, then tie them up and quarantine them. How does just running away help them, since eventually the zombies kept coming after them relentlessly.

My point is that they should have taken more precaution (being more cautious) than just running into an unknown situation and not knowing what to do.

The first time they had the meeting about Marko falling into the hole and they all presumed he's dead, they should have turned on "safely protocols" at that point and used extreme caution.

But why? They are on a life-less planet as far as they know. Why would they turn on the safety protocols for an infection just because someone fell into a hole? That doesn't make any sense.

-They seem stronger than normal people
-They don't die... ever, they would have to cut it to peices, and it is so hard... you don't know...
-They can get easily infected...

3 real motives to not risk your neck if the rescue is hours from arriving...

I think smashing the heads would have been a nice move.

Yep and an easy move...but there wouldnt been a movie in the first place if they used their brains like normal ppl would do and smashed some zombie skulls...this is such a horrible plot hole crap film...just ridiculous all the way.

Op you probably would of huddled up in a corner an cried like a bitch. Its easy to sit in your chair all warm an cozy an act like your a fighter. These guys are scientist, engineers. Not fighters. Fear is an extremely strong emotion and our natural instincts are to get away. Also you forget, their llan was sound to get into the vehicle an drive away, they didnt know the zombies would chase after them until it wqs to late.

besides think of any dumb decision youve made in the past, in hindsight its easy to have made better choices hut in the moment, you arent thinking as straight.

reply

The other thing is that people have a natural aversion to killing people and didn't want to bash the heads in of their former friends. Even if they think they are gone, they still have doubts or hopes and it's just an instinct not to kill.
