A masterpiece. 10/10.

What an interesting movie. The concept was engaging and the movie is a metaphor for human life, risk taking, choices we make and social injustice. The cinematography, camera movement, acting, and the script are all top notch.

So glad I picked it up! Easy 10/10.

reply

Not. 4/10.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

reply

Lol. That rating shows how little you know about film.

reply

I agree... though I gave it a 3/10

reply

I still give it a 4/10.

reply

Agree.

All films from this Korean director are good though.

reply

Nah, it was pretentious crap. A two hour straw-man argument that says "Rich people are evil." Only the dimmest products of a liberal arts education are going to be impressed by this.

reply

I didn't see it particularly as a "rich people are evil" movie. I saw it more as, these revolutions are ultimately pointless, because you end up at the exact place you started from, but now the Oppressed is going to be the Oppressor. So you need to "break" the system (literally derail the train in this case) and start from scratch.

reply

They aren't starting from scratch - they arent going to survive.

The point is that humanity didn't deserve to survive anyway, after destroying the entire planet - why would they?

I now agree with Dester (see above): 3/10/

"What year is this?"

reply

Why do you rate it a 3/10?

reply

Because it was a bad movie

I thought it was stupid. The basic concept was ridiculous. If the world is frozen, why are you wasting energy on driving a train? And since there's snow and ice everywhere eventually the train is going to be derailed by same. Just build an underground shelter and hunker down there.

And some of the scenes such as the school class room scene were idiotic. It was just a total insult to my intelligence.

I AM the FBI."

If you want to represent a closed circle or a pattern that keeps repeating itself over and over, a train on a loop around the world certainly is better than a bunker IMO.

The classroom scene wasn't idiotic either, for me. It showed the indoctrination of the passengers in the front of the train. Why did you think it was idiotic?

If you want to watch a film with a bunch of people in the bunker, you might try The Divide.

reply

We will have to agree to disagree about this one. The Divide received a 5.8 on IMDB, but I might check it out. Thanks.

"He's dead."

reply

If you look at the literal events in the film, yeah, they're probably going to die in the cold.

If you look at it more metaphorically, I think my interpretation still hold's water.

reply

Agree 100% with everything you said.
