It's Actually Not Bad
I'm 5 episodes in and I quite like it. I'm especially enjoying the fact that we spend more time in the present with the team than we ever did with the original.
Reminds me of Timeless in its tone and look.
Okay, update.
The tranny episode was awful and felt like a manipulative lecture.
That aside, I'm still enjoying it.

The bigger problem I had with that episode was the resolution at the end, where they were able to play in the Team plus accepted, and all was well in the world, thing is they were off to play State Finals after that. You can't tell me everything was good and well with a Transexual in the Team in the States they went to after that, just because one School accepted it doesn't mean the others and their teams would as well, life doesn't work out like that.
It was a very clunky episode at best.
