Somne people are complaining that the lead was American. But the lead had to be foreign, he had to be an outsider to propel the narrative. Dafoe was a great choice, masculinity mixed with tenderness. What was missing though was hints of his backstory. A few other issues too, eg we should have been given more time to absord the tragedy at the house. Otherwise a terrific movie. The logging issue handled very well.
