I gave it an 8 just because of the Scenery

The one shot (from a helicopter a presume) where Dafoe walks over the tundra and the helicopter comes from low, goes over Dafoe then pans around and gives the viewer a panoramic view of the mountains and scenery was just breathtaking and extremely well done. The whole film was full of beautiful scenery and the way it was shot was done perfect. The atmosphere of the whole place was also captured in a sense you were there, big thumbs up for director / cinematographer.

I overall enjoyed the story but it was messy and most of the characters didn't really do anything except for Dafoe's and he really stood out in the acting department. Brilliant actor, would love to see him a bit more these days.

I know a lot off people will disagree and will tell me that you can't rate a movie so high just because of the way it looks. I think you can as there are few movies out there that took my breath away like that. Plus a lot of kids these days give every movie they like because one of their favorite soap actors are in it a 10.

Cheers.

Messy? It was a pretty clear, straight-forward story.

That helicopter shot was great & so was another aerial shot showing clouds reflecting in a matrix of tiny lakes but I kept thinking that the Tasmanian Tourist Commission must be paying for this movie, and it's part of a tourism campaign to get people to holiday in Tasmania and hey why not try and find the Tasmanian Tiger while you're at it.

I forgot to look in the credits at end of movie, so don't know if the State Tourist Board did help fund that movie or not. Never want movies to look like travelogues to the point that it brings out out of the movie.

It's been co funded by the South Australian Film association, which resides in Adelaide. So don't think so.
