She was the daughter of Susan Plummer, his CIA friend from the first 2 movies that was murdered. The money was returned to some guy he met when he was a Lyft driver. He helped ordinary people who needed it. Did you even watch the first 2 films? Doesn’t seem like it.
shareI did watch it, but the first movie is like almost a decade ago?
i just watched them once, the equalizer movies for me a re good fun, but not movies that blow my mind and wanted me to watch 10 times over.
from the first movie the only thing i remembered was the villain was quite bad ass and capable, the relationship with the girl and the people he cared for and the bad ass timer sequences.
from the second movie i remember less as i thought it was a lesser story, but i still had good fun.
thx for the heads up, but i did not enjoyed this one as much as the others. the sub plot was distracting and the villains pure shit
I'm inclined to agree. These films are fun, but not good enough that I'd want to rewatch them. Anything from this movie that referenced the previous ones was lost on me.
shareThe guy he met as Lyft driver is from the second movie? I don't remember a thing.
shareWhen the movie starts Denzel is on a mission to recover something from the bad guys in that compound in Sicily. We are simply not told what it is that he's looking for (I think he says to the boss "you have something that doesn't belong to you"). Then the whole film happens with the Mafia and the CIA that has nothing to do with his reason for coming to Italy in the first place.
At the end of the movie when the girl gives the money to the old couple we are supposed to put two and two together and understand that Denzel heard the sad story from a passenger of having his life savings stolen, and decided to help him anonymously by tracking down the thieves and recovering the money.
None of that had anything to do with the previous movies, except the general idea of the Denzel character being someone who uses his particular set of skills to help people who have been hurt by criminals.
Well explained, bro.
I understood the ending, but like the other commenter, I thought I might have missed some specifics about the old couple.
I kept thinking "No way any US agency would give that $360k away!
See my reply above
shareThe scene did not work because we had no attachment to those people. You can't just give a big scene to people we don't know.
