I waited THE WHOLE MOVIE to hear Barry Bostwick shout this line at a CGI whale!

I waited in vain. Although he did say the next bit, "For Hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee!" And it was almost as good. Almost.

Okay, I watched this because I've had a thing for Renee O'Connor since her Xena days, but really this movie is the epitome of "so bad it's good". Yeah yeah yeah, nothing makes sense. There's so many plotholes it's actually harder to find the rare thing that made sense, or was done right, or that somebody did a speck of research on. Whatever. Giant whale eats submarines and cruise ships! Barry Bostwick plays a B-movie Ahab! Renee O'Connor is still hot!

I watched this whole movie whilst extremely drunk (I just watched it, I am still extremely drunk), and I have no regrets! I enjoyed this movie un-ironically for what it was. I make no apologies.

I was amused that they kept Queequeg. I guess his tattoos were too politically sensitive to hope for.

Unfortunately, I kept thinking of the references to those lines which were in Star Trek: Wrath of Kahn and Star Trek: First Contact (the latter of which was uttered by Patrick Stewart who went on to play Ahab in a USA MD movie a few years later.

I wanted Michelle to say: "And I only am escaped alone to tell thee." Her last name should have been Ishmael, but that would have been a spoiler.

As was pointed out on another thread, Michelle is a anagram for Ichmelle. Which is an odd spelling, but could be pronounced Ishmael.

Melville must have been a fan of The Wrath of Khan. I can't believe he blatantly stole that line from Star Trek!
