That was the only thing that goofed it up for me. Was distracting from the docu-this-really-happened part of the film. Otherwise I would have given a 10/10. Surely I can't be the only one who feels like this?
We're actors - we're the opposite of people. Tom Stoppard (1937 - ), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (1967)
THE NORMAL HEART without Matt, you kidding. This role was intended to Matt, I'm not going back to Matt's involvement in this movie, but for me Matt is Felix and Felix is Matt, and this for eternity.
Well, not quite, since it was written when he was about six years old, but I agree he was very good in it.
But I disagree with the OP. I thought Parsons, Bomer and Roberts made their roles come alive. They weren't just cast for their celebrity, but for what they brought to the roles.
For me, the best performance in the film was Mark Ruffalo. He was amazing, and so naturalistic in his florid anger. I think he served Kramer's script, and Kramer's real-life contribution, incredibly well.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

Matt Bomer is amazing and beautiful, and heartbreaking all at once...Mark is all anger & physical action and Matt is gentleness & quiet...Everything is in the eyes with Matt...
