Just wondering...

The HIV/AIDS epidemic has always been a topic that has been very interesting to me. I have always been very interested in the dynamic of human behavior and it amazes me how it was originally handled. Now it is just one of those things people know about and talk about. While I am not an idiot and I know that it is a problem that effects everyone not just the homosexual community that is unfortunately who it is most associated with.

My question is the cast in this particular rendition is made up of mostly homosexual actors so how do you feel this does when compared to Angels in America for example with a cast of mostly heterosexual actors.

My opinion from a 24 y/o gay make with HIV, whom got it from the one female I've been with, is due to actors and the subject material. Obviously, gay actors feel more passionate about the subject matter, being that this was a film about gays as well as it being that gays most likely know more with hiv than straights. Many straight actors are still timid to play gay characters, let alone ones with important subject material. This was one of those movies that honestly needed gay actors to play the characters to get the feel right. A straight actor with no friends / knowledge of hiv shouldn't be in a movie about it.
