Are they serious with that tagline? That's like saying: "The best way to save someone is to kill someone."
It just feels out of line for a movie about the compassion we must feel for people sick with AIDS.
That's not what the tagline is; you have misquoted it...
It's "To win a war, you have to start one."
It refers to Ned fighting against the system, where the gay problem was ignored or swept under the rug...Ned (in real life, Larry Kramer) took the fight for AIDS awareness out of the shadows and shined light upon it, to make people aware...He screamed until he was heard...
