Dallas Buyers Club has NOTHING on this masterpiece!
And i'm a heterosexual! This movie was truly moving, it made me cry!
Dallas Buyers Club was a decent movie, but it was not nearly as good as this TV movie!

interesting you should bring up DBC. its my humble opinion that
Matthew M. ruined his looks with all the weight he lost for DBC.
i was worried about this when i read how much weight Matt Bomer
lost for his role as Felix. but Matt is now as healthy looking
and sexy as ever.

I feel the same way about Matthew McConaughey. Matt Bomer looks better than ever. Jared Leto has now lost lots of weight twice and gained twice as much for roles and he looks better too. How much weight has Christian Bale lost and gained, but he still looks the same. I think Matthew was also going through some personal issues that aged him as he was losing and gaining the weight which would have aged anybody, mainly having 3 children so quickly and his wife becoming ill before and after their last child was born. Matt Bomer has 3 kids too, but they're older and while Jared Leto is only 2 years younger than Matthew McConaughey, look at his lifestyle. Traveling as a musician is different than it used to be, especially if you are rich. That would keep any guy young. ;)

If you loved this & DBC you should see And the Band Played on (if you haven't already) - it's brilliant & the cast reads like a 'who's who' of fantastic legendary actors. Good stuff. Also - somewhat related - if you haven't seen Milk i'd highly recommend that one...I saw it in the theater & bawled like a baby.

it was not nearly as good as this TV movie

For me it's apples and oranges. Loved 'em both.

Religion is like a rocking chair -- a lot of work to get nowhere.

I loved 'And the Band Played On' and I loved this film also.

The early bird might get the worm, but the 2nd mouse gets the cheese!
