The bumper cars scene near the end with the crystal key...
Has to take away at least one star or drop it two points on the ratings scale, right?

shareI thought the ending was a bit low budget-ish. After two hours of incredibly detailed CGI world building, the ending involved two vehicles hitting each other down a city street. I dunno, it felt like they had run out of money and Warner Bros said "screw the CGI, let's have a cheap looking car chase instead." :P
It seemed too much for me. Like them chasing down the plane on the runway in Argo or dragging out the ending in The Return of the King. It's disappointing. I liked the movie, but it was maybe a half hour too long.
And I'm still utterly confused about why IOI was killing people and blowing up stuff because they wanted to put ads in the Oasis. They should have explained that situation better.
They blew up the stack building - his aunt's home - because they thought Wade was inside. IOI wanted to win the challenge to control the OASIS and its assets (it was valued at half a trillion dollars) so they would be prepared to kill, I guess. Imagine if you could win a challenge and buy Apple or Microsoft (!), I'm sure some major corp would do the best to take you out and anyone else you know - friends, relatives etc.
