there are two category 4 Kaiju about to attack the city and we have 8 Jaegers so let's attack with just one Jaeger, leave one at the shore and keep all the other Jaegers powered down and empty. This plan is foolproof I tell you!

By the time the 2 category 4 kaiju show up, there are only 4 jaegers left: Crimson Typhoon, Stryker Eureka, Gipsy Danger, and Cherno Alpha.
I have a feeling this is satirical, but if so I don't know what it's referring to, since in the movie it states and shows that:
1) There are only 4 Jaegers left
2) 3 go out, only Gypsy stays back in because as far as Pentecost is concerned it has no pilots.
3) Stryker Eureka stays in the miracle mile to engage at discretion, since they can't afford to lose the bomb-carrier in a fight they hadn't planned for.
4) Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha go out to fight, and Stryker joins them once they're in trouble. Gypsy goes out when Stryker is powered down.
