Why did Fitzgerald *spoiler* ____ to the Captain?

*Spoilers*

Just a quick question:

Why, at the end, did Fitzgerald scalp the Captain?

Was it to make in look like the Ree killed him if the rest of the men came upon the corpse, or was it just a personal touch that Fitzgerald put upon him?

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks.

Mischief. Mayhem. Soap.

reply

Because Fitzgerald had been scalped before and survived, I think he was just a psycho, selfish, sick person.

reply

I think you're assessment is correct, that he wanted to make it look like Ree did it. Good point.

reply

I'm thinking the same thing.

As crazy as he was, he was pretty smart and very resourceful.

Why take the heat for the death of the Captain if there were going to be no witnesses?

*shrugs*

reply

He was very shrewd and devious.
