Award-worthy

With nominations more diverse, distinctive and wide-ranging this year than ever, however, it’s ultimately more gloom than doom. After all, awards are meaningless, right? They are, to an extent. The quality of the work won’t change, whether they get their gold statue or not. The good performances are still good, and time will ultimately become the truest test. Look how many nominations The Wire and Community got during their respective runs, for instance. I’m certainly they both will be celebrated far more than, say, The Big Bang Theory or Dog With a Blog, even if both latter shows have more individual nominations than the former two do combined. Yes, that is a pretty sad thought indeed. But you know what’s even sadder? How often they ignore John C.
