I've just started watching the first series of DCI Banks, and though the episodes are not as good as the books, it's decent TV. But I find DS Annie Cabot absolutely unbearable as a character: self-serving, harsh, cold, and not particularly bright. Does it (or she) get any better?

shareIMO only the character has been the weakest link in this fine series from Day One.
Her earlier goofy unprofessional character was bad enough. Then they had a good reason to get rid of her and move on--Lowe's pregnancy.
I remember the thread in the first 2 weeks of the series back in the beginning when hordes of posters were begging for her to be killed off! HAHA
Then she was pregnant and then the threads began begging the producers on the forum to get rid of that character once and for all.
Then she popped up after "maternity leave" real and fictional.
The actress is okay and I've liked her in other things. But this character was a clanging mismatch on every level to me from the first episode.
The character was poorly drawn and written and never fit in, much less Banks being hot for her. Ugh.
It is kind of funny that every time there was a way for her to leave the series, posters have been begging for her to disappear since the first two weeks of the series.
Now....YEA! baahahahahahahha
