They already had the perfect blueprint...

The first book.. a clear and straight forward narrative western fantasy.

It would have barely had to be adapted.

It would of not only pleased book fans, but literally it was Logan before Logan was Logan...

Besides this, the budget would of been tiny.

The fact the studio messed this up is pretty embarassing

The minute I heard they were not adapting the first novel I gave up most of my hope for this. I gave up ALL hope when they cast Idris Elba.

You're right. It would have been a huge return on a relatively small investment for the studio.

It made no sense, the book was gritty and down to earth. It would of costed like 20 million...

It literally makes no sense

Imagine a faithful adaption of The Dark Tower starring Josh Brolin as Roland and directed by John (The Proposition, The Road) Hillcoat?

reply

Haven’t seen those but I’ll def check them out... literally just gives us the book/ audiobooks voice acting to film with little adapting..

Why alienate book fans and confuse new fans by giving us that convoluted mess.
