I personally don't Idris Alba. If you wanted a token black actor playing the role of a white character, why not Denzel instead?

I agree. It changes to much from the novel. Susanna will need all her lines changed and history.

"Token black actor"? Uh, he's the STAR of the film. He's nobody's damn "token" anything,duh! Tokens are usually just the sidekicks---you can't even get your stereotypes straight,lol. Plus he's a good actor, and it's nice to see him in an atypical role, as well as a starring role, for a change.
