OT: Other Fiction series/characters long over due...

Off topic question for you regulars: what other books (series) or characters do you think are long over due for a film adaptation?

Personally, if I had to pick two it'd be for a proper Conan adaptation and to finally see Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone come to life. Yeah, both fantasies, but polar opposites . A team just crossed my mind... o.O Mind BLOWN! Ha, but really.

Conan the Barbarian, while one of my favs, still didn't make tell the story of the philosopher barbarian from the Howard stories. The 2011 one I'm not even going to comment on, ha. I have no idea who I'd cast as either Conan or Elric, but there needs to be a resurgence of such fantasy movies. The Hobbit didn't do it for me and Warcraft I never cared for anyway.

I would also like to see some proper Lovecraft stories come to life.

Three is your limit, folks. Go!

For me it's the Ender series. Ender's Game I know was made but what I'm looking forward to is Speaker for the Dead and Xenocide and Children of the Mind. They seem more interested in doing the Bean-centric Ender's Shadow series, if they keep the series going at all...

I don't know if you're aware of this but I've already changed things. I killed Ben Linus.

See, I always wanted them to do more modernized versions of both It and The Stand, and I'm getting my wish with the former so... yay!

Other than those two, it's hard to say. Back when I was into Sword of Truth I wanted that to go to screen, then it did go to screen and man, it so did not work! So I think this is one of those "be careful what you wish for" scenarios! And tell me the Redwall books wouldn't make for a great animated show or movie, but still I worry!

Still, as I think some of us have said before, Eyes of the Dragon would be an epic movie or miniseries!

Yeah, IT is looking pretty cool so far, from what I've seen. I actually never read the Stand! Not yet, anyway. Besides the DT series, Eyes of the Dragon, and some shorts, I don't care for SK's style much. Been a long time since I tried to read anything else by him, so maybe I should try again.

An Eyes of the Dragon film/mini series would be great! As well as a Redwall animated film. Not Pixar animation type either, but old school. I always imagined the Secret of Nimh movie when thinking about Redwall as an animated movie. Maybe only for similar talking animals, I dunno.

Oh my God, Secret of Nimh was EXACTLY my thought when Redwall came to mind!

To be honest, I loved The Stand. For me it was a total page turner, couldn't put it down. At the time it was by far the largest book I had ever picked up, and I tore through it, but I am very fond of Stephen King's writing style. It's authors like Terry Goodkind that drive me crazy, but tastes vary.

It's been forever since I read any of the Ender's series, but they were fantastic! I didn't hate the movie, but didn't like it much either. Not terrible but not as good as the book I vaguely remember. I need to revisit the series!

The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. My new favorite series and im eagerly awaiting the last book.

I read they already signed a deal to make movies, tv series, and video games...
