Box office predictions for opening week?

How do you think The Dark Tower do in it's opening week? Will it debut at number 1 at the box office or will the Lego Batman movie still be number 1 in it's 2nd week of release? Just curious in your opinions.

Hmm, I doubt DT will put as many butts in seats as Lego Batman, but they really aren't comparable anyway. I have no idea how it'll do financially, but I doubt it will be a spectical a la Star Wars or any CBM. I'm still on the fence about Elba (tho I'm still excited to see it as a whole - the least of my concern w/ him is skin color btw). General audiences tho will probably dig him having no pre-conceived idea on who Roland is. But they sure are waiting to drop a teaser, rather late imo. Especially if they want people other than DT fans to see it. Hope it does well tho. Wanna see as much DT as possible. The idea of Roland possessing the Horn this time (allowing for other tweaks & changes) makes me nervous and excited!

11 billion dollars! Lol, good topic though! It cost $60 million to make... It doesn't need to kill to warrant a sequel... Imagine Elba making this his defining role... Losing some weight... Really truly studying and perfecting the role... (I doubt anyone did this far, but can't blame them yet.) I just hope it makes enough to play out on screen after loving the books for as long as I have. I think it's in good hands and that's the best I could hope for.... Spider?

No! No, no, no, don't get him started, Percy!

It's so hard to say how this movie may do because they aren't giving us anything! I mean, all we have are a few photos and articles talking about how Matthew McConaughey is method acting again. So far I love the costumes, but I wish they'd give us a better idea of what we might see. Just... a teaser! Like, a 20 second teaser, please!

Ugh, I keep wishing for more, but as a man named Jayne once said, "If wishes were horses we'd all be eating steak." So patience will be the name of this game.

Agreed, Joanna! Just gotta wait it out and hope that they start marketing the movie soon! Seeing costumes is good and all, but doesn't really give you and idea of how all the elements are going to come together.

Even tho I'm still on the fence about Elba, I'm still chomping at the bit to see how the actors will be together and what the overall look of the film will be.

Give us sooooomething!?! Haha. Besides the handful of stills.

Care to elaborate what you're basing these figures on? I don't really make such predictions, but I'm interested in how you come to your conclusion.
