Even Jake's drawing of Roland (in the leaked trailer) doesn't have a hat.

No HAT??? No HATTTTT?? No HAAATTTTTT????

A hat was only mentioned a few times and, while figuring into the art from DT was never really an iconic image within the story. I think the flashbacks to Mejis mentioned Roland wearing a hat more than the entire series did.

I don't know if you're aware of this but I've already changed things. I killed Ben Linus.

I'm mostly being facetious. I thought the trailer, even in its unfinished state, looked very promising. Still wish there was a hat though.

How many book illustrations featured a hat? I only recall a few! I think it's a smart move... Unless Westerns really make a comeback going sans hat was wise. It's not like this is a Cowboy movie at all.

Okay, guys. I have to do this:

"His shirt, the no-color of rain or dust, was open at the throat, with a rawhide thong dangling loosely in hand-punched eyelets. His hat was gone."

It's the third page in, first chapter of The Gunslinger. So if there was a hat it was in flashbacks, or he might get one later. But from what I'm reading now, Roland has no hat. He misses it, though! It says that, too.

I understand why these hat threads keep coming up now. However i'm offended by the pair of you that you have succumbed to sexism regarding the integrity of TDT and Roland.

(plz save me a seat joanna, or maybe 2 ;) )
