Brilliant director ... don't worry

Anders Thomas Jensen the writer, his resume speaks for himself.
Everything he touches could be oscar materiale.
In directing has a sense of very dark humour to him. Like this scene from 'Adam's apples' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvLM76T5AbU&t=25s

Nikolaj Arcel you wouldn't know in the states.
he is very respect in the danish industry, also as a writer.

At the age of 22, he wrote and directed his debute 'Kings Games' in 2004 a political thriller.
(like a long episode of house of cards).

For nearly a decade it would be best grossing film in Denmark

He went on to write and direct a pretty dark family fantasy 'island of lost souls' (2007). a danish harry potter if you will.
take a look at this trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdyzjKDWpYU&t=11s
You don't think it look special? Well, the total budget of the film was 7 million dollars, and what he did with those amazed the critics.

afterwards he went on to, just like Anders Thomasen Jens, write fantastic scripts like the original 'Girl with the dragon tattoo'
he was recently oscar nominated in best foreign category. with 'A Royal Affair'

I don't know what this movie will be like, but I can assure you if Anders Thomas Jensen and Nikolaj Arcel get to do their thing by the studio.
I have a hard time seeing how it could go wrong, I mean everything Anders Thomas Jensen has ever touched is at least 'pretty good'.

And Nikolaj Arcel would be my first choice for a dark sci-fi story.
In fact he was set to direct Marvels 'Deadman' a few years back.

Arcel was 32 when he did King's Game, not 22. Just to be correct.

I agree that he oozes quality in everything he has done so far. My only two concerns are 1) that English not being his or ATJs native language will shine through in the script (I doubt this will happen) and 2) that they will get bullied by the studio and will not be able to stand up for what they feel the movie needs because they are newcomers to Hollywood (this I'm more concerned about tbh).

Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion

Yeah, that's definitely a risk. Has happened before with non-American film makers when they enter the studio system.

Let's hope they let them do what they are hired to do.

He's a braindead hack who has made a few mediocre films and is now showing utter ignorance for the books with this piece of sh*t hatchet job... Don't delude yourself.
