Or the Stephen King character? Wouldn't it be awesome if they just went ahead and cast only black people? Seriously. I think that would be sweet. Or if Tony Danza gets to play Roland for the T.V. show, but then switch back to Idris for the films.

That would be something. A couple of years back I saw Patrick Stewart performing as othello in a race reversed version, which was quite an awesome piece of art.

People still complaining about the casting decision are missing the point. There will probably not be an appearance by the Hitler brothers or Stephen king.
