1. This should be a TV series
2. Way to many changes from the source material.
3. Idris Elba= Crap Actor
4. Stephen King Adaptions always suck ass

I disagree entirely with items 3 and 4. No one thinks Shawshank "sucks ass" and Idris Elba is phenomenal actor. Those items are opinion based and not facts. I'm not discounting your opinion on the matter, but please understand that your opinion is going to differ from others.

Roland is black because Idris Elba is black, and Idris Elba was cast as Roland most likely because he put forward the best audition for the role. Since you don't like him you probably will disagree, but until I have evidence proving that Idris Elba cannot portray a proper Roland, I'll go by the most likely scenario.

Idris Elba can not portray a proper Roland because he is black and Roland is white. End of story.

Only a few people are excited for this trainwreck.

1. Would have worked fine as a film series. Just needed a better director, writer, producer and much better casting. And obviously to actually follow the books... Something this sorely lacks.

2. Blame the braindead director who knows nothing of the books and is just ignoring the story entirely.

3. True. He basically plays the same part in everything.

4. Not always, but the ratio of bad to good is not favourable at all.

5. PC publicity stunt. And because nobody involved with the film even bothered to read the books, nor do they care about trying to be faithful. They wanted to be able to play the racism card when it bombs too, they've already had that hack Goldsman come out and call everyone who doesn't like the casting racist.

Well you've clearly never actually bothered reading the books then. Some helpful advice for you, go read the books.

Ehh, i've read the books and I'll watch the movie.. I'm not all obsessive about books I like that get made into films and automatically decide something sucks before even seeing it.. Plus just about every movie thats adapted from a book ends up being really different than the source material.. So I'm not all shocked or anything about the changes.. I'll see the movie and if it sucks, it sucks. Don't really care that much. I don't really get excited for really any big hollywood type movie nowadays.. the bar is set so low that comic book movies that are all the same or rehashes of star wars are considered good movies. So I don't expect much from anything.

Sadly even though i totally agree will all you have written sire .... by the looks of all i have read up and noticed i dont think even the "Trainwreck" section that was in the the books will even get a look in ... Blaine might have been a pain but thats another book thrown out by the looks of it.

I so looking forward to a decent set of movies ... Now instead im actually dreading IT not them just a IT .. In truth i think they should have done the Talisman first would have been easier also they might have learnt something from it before going head on into this epic half heartedly ..

I fear the Tower may well be about to fall ... Pass the anti depresants :(

I can see why you'd question why they change the main character into a black guy but saying Idris Elba is a crap actor is pretty dumb. Hes pretty good especially amongst all these actors nowadays that really do suck.
