Stephen King Being Omitted From The Films Is All They Really Needed.

Even King himself has said he's considered going back and editing himself out of the last three books. Aside from this, these books could have easily been adapted into a seven-part series, spanning seven years.

The books aren't even as "all over the place" as some claim them to be. Look, here's the main plot points that could have served as all seven films. Here we go:

1. Roland kills everyone in Tull, meets Jake, then confronts the Man In Black.
2. Roland meets Eddie Dean, Detta Walker, and kills Jack Mort.
3. Roland and Ka-tet recover Jake from 1977, make their way through Lud, and end up being trapped on Blaine.
4. The Ka-tet outsmart Blaine, make their wake toward the thinny, and Roland recounts his time in Mejis and how he first learned about TDK. This film would have been long as fck, but epic.
5. The Ka-tet defends Calla Bryn-Sturgis from the Wolves of Thunderclap.
6. The narrative would be split between Susannah, Jake and Callahan, and Roland and Eddie's attempts to find Susannah and infiltrate the Dixie Pig.
7. The Ka-tet destroy Breaker Academy and move on toward TDK, where Roland finally confronts the Crimson King and finds out he's been caught in a time-loop. I guarantee you this ending would have been better than whatever crap they're cooking up.

Not rocket science.

Come quietly, or there will be...trouble.

There's a considerable amount of fat that can be trimmed from Wolves, Song and The Dark Tower. Plus, I don't think Mordred would quite fit, given how labyrinthian (if you're positive) / convoluted (if you're negative) the plot gets starting with the full-blown arrival of Mia.

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .

"The Wolves" could be( and should be) totally left out, as that particular book added almost nothing to the overall story arc of the series, and was the beginning of the downward spiral for the series, as this and all the books afterward sucked balls.
