Odetta and Rolland can't both be black
It's going to ruin the hatred she has n the books for him. Sad this is going to be the next "Water World" because of well connected, talentless hack casting directors.

shareA) it's a sequel to the story you've read (if you did read it) and as such it is not certain what, if any part Odetta will play (in later films/series - it has been confirmed that neiher she nor Eddie will be in this first movie).
B) she could still hate Roland for any number of reasons. One that has been tauted by many others are, that she could hate him for being friends with Eddie and being an "Uncle Tom" for lack of a better phrase.
C) go pour your stomach acid out somewhere else.
Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion
D) It was one (single) book: The Drawing of the Three. Odetta did not enter the picture until about halfway through the story. Speaking of half...
E) The personality you are thinking of is Detta Walker. Detta herself was present and active roughly half of the time after Odetta Holmes made her debut appearance. During Detta's time to shine, her hate was split between Eddie and Roland.
So, all and all, you are dramatically overselling and drawing out a specific instance of conflict between Roland and another character.

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .
A) Stupidest idea ever.
B) Bullsh*t attempt to pretend it won't change the dynamic a lot.
C) Pointless addition that bears no relation to anything in the original post.
A) Angry rebuttal
B) Unhinged hatred
C) *beep* repetition of earlier diatribes
The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed.
He's like a real life Detta Walker. All you have to do is say "Idris Elba" and he will fume like a cartoon character with steam coming out of their ears.

It's a shame you struggle to see the logic and common sense that I post, that is sorely lacking in your posts. I'd almost pity you for your utter stupidity of not for the fact that you are a complete *beep* tool.
shareA) Pointless reply to my factual statement.
B) Second bullsh*t reply to another fact.
C) The point where you ran out of even the usual nonsense you reply with.
Yeah a sequel where he relived the going after the tower so many times that he turned black. Sequels to books where he was a white honky but is now black ? Makes no sense.
shareWell first off let me say this long and brutally beautiful story is, was, and always will be a go to for fantastic story telling. With that being said I am so pissed off by the choice of actors involved, first the obvious terribly wrong choice for Roland and also the man in black.
1. The clothes are too clean and slick. In the books it talks of Roland's clothes as being the pale color of the dust he walks in. Not shiny black brand new leather.
2. Roland is in no way a large beefy man. He is emaciated and half dying the whole time due to his gunslinger training and conservation of resources. (whether this is a sequel or not that shouldn't change unless he has been in our world getting fat and lazy on microwaveable tv dinners).
3. A main part of the story between characters is race related causing a lot of strife and bonding.
4. If you give the movie deal to SONY expect it to be raped. I.E. "Fantastic Four(2015)". The PC idiots pushing their false forced pc ideas to the point of blatant racism should be stopped.
I will not pay a dime to see this movie and have no desire to watch it. If you think Mr. Kings bull about race not mattering for his story then I have a bridge in NY to sell you, because the story is chalked full or racism which drives the story and characters as mentioned above.
A long time ago while talking to friend about this story becoming a movie I joked about them using Will Smith,... well.. I wasn't far off. lol
3. A main part of the story between characters is race related causing a lot of strife and bonding.

yes making characters who were never black, black (why not Chinese? oh that wouldn't be the same in the U.S. would it, maybe he should be Hispanic)just to try to appeal to certain audiences is very much blatant racism disguised as being PC. sigh back

Bingo!
shareHi, Growler.
I've heard your points before in various words in varying degrees. I understand your feelings on 1 and 2, but while I can't speak to the quality of his outfit, it's kind of hard to find a half dying emaciated actor that would be able to pull off many of the more "actiony" scenes in the movie.
What I want to address with you is your 3rd point:
3. A main part of the story between characters is race related causing a lot of strife and bonding.
yes she isnt schizo for that long in the books to be fair
shareI wanna hear reverse racism, dagnabbit!!!
Black History Will Now Be Accepting Martyrs👮
Maybe it will be like that Chris Rock routine where he says there are two types of black people and one type hates the other.
