Not very funny but entertaining.

I watched the warrior a couple days before watching this and they obviously have very similar stories, but they feel very different. The warrior is overly dramatic and this is a bit over the top. Short on laughs but just feels more familiar to anyone following MMA. The warrior to me at times felt like a joke. A bunch of sillyness thrown together to get an oscar nomination. That same "the wrestler" formula but only half as good. Sure Nolte was great and it had some nice raw and dark moments but man was it SILLY!

Anyway I just wanted to say that MMA fans should enjoy this more. Everyone from Bas, Rogan, James, all play themselves. Great stuff.

I thought that the film was going to be corny since Kevin James tends to overact at times in my own opinion but surprisingly he wasn't that bad in this film.

Yeah he stuck to what he knows. He did wrestle when he was younger and has been into martial arts for a long time. Some of the jokes were just the typical pathetic ones and some scenes were predictable but this is the best film I've seen him do. Pretty good for essentially another kids film. His films were never my cup of tea but his t.v. was great.

Cliche but not bad. He beat an MMA champ. Huh? I'm okay with it.

The thought of Kevin James battling MMA is rather hysterical but he managed to make it believable.
