Good movie, but some bad editing at the end
*** SPOILER Alert - Don't read further if you haven't watched the movie and plan on watching it ***
I thought the movie was done really well and it was funny (if you don't have a sense of humor, then go watch paint dry), but there was some problems at the end of the movie that had me frustrated.
When Scott Voss (Kevin James) is lifting Dietrich (Krzysztof Soszynski) into the air at the end of the movie (sorry for not using the technical term, I'm not going to pretend I watch MMA or wrestling), it shows various shots of the crowd in the background of other characters and shots of the band up in the stands.
Now everything up to that point in the movie was edited pretty well. I only saw a problem with the reaction shots at the end of the movie with Scott Voss about to take down his opponent. The audience behind Niko (Bass Rutten) looked like they could care less what was going on and the band didn't seem to really care either. Even when the "slam" occurred, many of the band members didn't even react in time. I know multiple takes are taken and it just seems like the wrong ones were chosen OR they didn't notice the mistake in reaction during dailies.
*** SPOILER ABOUT "ELF" (with Will Ferrell) for an example ***
If anyone ever watched "Elf" (with Will Ferrell), see the end of the movie when Mary Steenburgen misses the cue and has both a delayed and unrealistic reaction to Santa's sleigh flying over her head. Everyone else reacts correctly, but Mary looks like she's just on a certain something that's been known to delay reactions (and has a glazed look in her eyes).
