UFC??

Ok, I get the premise of the middle-aged guy who becomes an MMA fighter; that's actually pretty plausible, but according to the main photo, KJ's wearing UFC gloves. I take that to mean he is fighting for the UFC - The NFL, MLB, NBA of MMA. That's kind of a hard sell, don't you think?

I still plan on seeing this at some point because it looks like a fun film.

Doesn't seem like realism is their primary concern.

And the UFC is fundamentally different than the leagues you've mentioned. Those guys are solely pros, but there's still a number of guys in the UFC that have a day job. The roster isn't completely stocked with full time fighters just yet. So I don't think it's too much of a stretch.

And thank god for Roy Nelson to argue for Kevin James' weight in this argument lol.

Yes, good points.

its actually fairly easy to get into the UFC if your a good fighter, you only need 3 pro fights to be considered, and if you got a camp helping you get your name out, you have a good shot, its not like hes fighting for the championship in the movie, hes probably just fighting on the undercard but its his big payday against his toughest opponent

well average life expectancy for a white male in the us is around 84 or so, so 42 would kind of be the definition of "middle aged" if one was to be literal bout it.

of course its possible i'm just being sarcastic also so theres that....
