It knocked Dietrich out. I don't watch UFC but in Boxing if a fighter is knocked out cold he loses the fight, I imagine it's the same in UFC as well.

You have to have a certain suspension of disbelief, otherwise you'd be complaining that a real UFC ref would have stopped the fight and awarded the TKO to Dietrich about 30 seconds into the first round.
