Good Writing, Good Directing, Good Acting

I can usually distinguish whether or not a film is going to be promising within the first scenes by the dialogue of the characters. I was immediately impressed with the writing, and my sense of promise for this film carried on until the end credits. The films fluid writing, directing, and acting kept me engaged throughout the entire feature without feeling as if I were watching a movie production. I maintained being submerged in the suspenseful storyline the entire time. I highly recommend this movie.

And to add a side note: Thank you, thank you for a movie that has writers intelligent enough to write a dialogue that isn't inundated with cursing. If the main character doesn't have a vocabulary that reaches beyond four letters then the plot must be really weak IMHO. Not so for this movie! They also didn't use nudity to cover weak story lines. A+!!!

couldn't have put it better my self. very nice, engaging film from start to finish and none of the crud

Could of been easily a PG-13 movie, but I probably wouldn't of wanted to watch it as I prefer R movies anyday.

except for the 30 or 40 people killed in cold blood

yeah, i agree this is one of those sleeper gems, good camera work, good plot, great acting, and aptly named...

unlike many who thought this was just another rehash of taken, i dont think it was even close...the only similarity is a guy and his daughter...other than that it was not about rescuing her, but staying alive when the members of a conspiracy want to kill them...

it was also a mystery, unfolding as the plot ticked along...

anticlimactic or not, it was refreshing to see an ending that was not cheesy with some type of king of the mountain theatrics...

reply

It was an good film. It was a little anti-climatic in the ending and seemed to end suddenly. But a good film.

reply

it ended suddenly for JH, all right.

reply

It was well done.

This movie sucked...it was promising up to the point he got carjacked.

I liked this movie, it was entertaining. I did think that the 'bad girl' was really too young for that role, she wasn't believable as someone who is 'managing' cia hit squads, IMO of course. Also I didn't like the daughter. But overall it held my attention. Taken was a better movie, overall. Not so much because of Liam, but I just thought it was 'tighter', better directed, and more 'raw'. This movie did kinda 'wrap up' a tad too quickly and also I don't think the hitman would have left the young arabic girl alive, that would have been a loose end.
Oh well, there's no perfection in the world, anyway, so what. I was entertained and that's really all I care about. I did like Aaron E. in the movie, he was good in the role.
Oh yeah, I was surprised none of the people they met along the way commented on his battered face. That seemed a little odd.

... is your critical thinking.

No. No, you can't.

reply

Joking, I hope. The acting and directing were fine, but the writing was laughably bad.
