Secret Gay Love Story

This film isn't what it seems. On the surface, it's a three way romance between two men and a woman, both of whom are in love with her. But if you look beyond the surface, it's very obviously a love story about two homosexuals who are torn and kept apart by a woman, and who eventually find themselves together again by the end once they realize she's been playing them both against one another for pretty much their entire lives, maybe in a twisted way of making them realize they secretly have been in love with each other all along (which the final few seconds of the film seem to suggest).

Blatant homosexual imagery aside, the gay subtext is almost overwhelming. You have the jerk off story, the three way make out scene that ends with the two male friends making out, the unbelievably gay churro eating scene, the nude sauna encounter, the homoerotic moaning during the match, etc etc. Even the casting of Zendaya, who could best be described as a pretty female face with the body of a little boy, speaks volumes of the film's actual narrative intent.

It's a gay romance under the guise of a love triangle, and not a particularly good or clever one at that. Absolutely ridiculous.

then why the heck did you voluntarily watch it?!

reply

Because I didn't know it was going to be a gay love story going into it?

reply

ignorance is no excuse in this day and age when HWood is churning out wokefest after wokefest & every TV show has 33% LGBT characters
