The Baby

I never read the book, but who is the father of Rosie's baby? It be
cool if Alex was the father, but I don't know. Who is the father? Sam is
sure at his hottest in appearance in Love Rosie, Sam is truly at his sexiest
and he was very gorgeous in that movie. I'll probably see the movie anyway.
So, I won't be upset if I know the paternity of the baby now.

It's been a while since I read the book... but I'm fairly certain that Brian is the father of the baby. As implied in the trailers, Brian went to school with both Rosie/Alex and they slept together during prom. While there's no 'Brian' on the cast list, I'm assuming the story arch will still remain somewhat similar to this.

Do you think if Alex and Rosie end up together have any children
together? I still want to see the movie no matter what, but this will
help me a little. Thank you, Sam is even sexier as Alex than he is as
Finnick Odair.

Sorry, I didn't quite get your question? Were you asking about whether Rosie/Alex end up together… and if so, do they have any children. The book pretty much follows the life of Alex and Rosie from when they became friends at a young age (age 7) and follows their lives as they get older (it ends when they are about 50-ish years old). As the trailers suggest, both are best friends but due to a range of different circumstances, their relationship never develops any further - it is very much a will they/won't they style novel.

Here are the answers to your questions: the circumstances that prevent Alex and Rosie from developing a relationship include Rosie having a baby (i.e. the result of her one-night stand with Brad), marriages, divorces, dating other people, etc. It is only at the very end of the novel - on the last few pages - that Alex and Rosie finally get the chance to reciprocate their romantic feelings for each other. By this stage, both characters are well into their fifties (and it is implied that Rosie has gone through menopause) and have had children to different partners… although both are already divorced. It's somewhat of a bittersweet ending as they both finally come together, but it took a long time.

As side note, I'm not sure if this is the plot/time frame they will be using for the film. It seems like Lily Collins/Sam Claflin will be featured heavily so they might not extend the story all the way up until the protagonists are 50.

Do you think Alex has any kids of his own? I hope he does even if they are not with Rosie.

reply

I suggest reading the book if you're so interested but, Yes, Alex has at least one (maybe 2) kids of his own. I know Alex was married at one point to a girl he met in college. I think Rosie was married at one point too.... The book is a really quick, easy read I'm sure you could find it easily at the bookstore or library.
