Would you agree the basic concept is just another take on "The Island" which itself is another take on "Logans Run"?

The key idea of the movie is also very very similar to Harlan Ellison's "Repent Harlequin Said the Tick Tock Man."

Actually I think it is closer to a story from the comic strip "Garth" in the British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "Citizen Mundo 14500": in this story, Garth is visited by one of his future incarnations, named Mundo; he shows him his "life clock" (on his arm) and explains that in his time they use time-based economics, and that people "time out"(die) when they reach 14500 days.

It's a slightly different take on some of the films you've mentioned so not particularly original, but most made now will be heavily influenced by earlier films.

I don't have any issue with that and many great films would never have been made without taking at least some inspiration from others.

I enjoyed this one and would certainly recommend to others.

Agreed. I also thought there were slight parallels to draw with District 13 and Hunger Games, insofar as ghettos are being controlled and subjugated by an elite in a different district, who exert their power to keep the underclass down in order to further improve their own, already privileged position.

Oh, that also happens in real life, too - but that's far less entertaining!

I distinctly remember seeing the concept of time-as-currency and countdown clocks used in the (very) old comic strip Mandrake the Magician during one of his travels to an alternate dimension.

This film was inspired by Philip K dick's work as well... I've read most of his novels and in his Sci Fi worlds he substitutes paper currencies with really weird stuff.

I am sorry but I would rather watch In Time 10 times than watch Logans Run Once.

Yes the story might be the same, but no way in hell is Logans run better than this.
