That NBC-is-better jab at the mic placement on his shirt wasn't funny, and I don't think Conan liked it either. the entire rest of the interview was pathetic and Conan didn't seem too happy. Personally I thought jon was a bit of a douchebag.
Next time you want a classic comedian, conan, stick with martin short or steve martin.
LOL we really do have different tastes. I think Jon Lovitz was hilarious. Well, he's had better guestings. I'm sure Conan knows Jon Lovitz is a loose cannon when he's there.

Oh c'mon....it was funny. I love when people bust his balls about NBC. Jack Black did it too when he was complaining about what a pain in the ass it is to find TBS on his remote.
My favorite ballbuster was Norm MacDonald, when Conan was actually still on the Tonight Show, but on the verge of losing the gig. Norm brought out a gift basket with a card that read "Congrats". Norm went on to read the card and said something like (and I'm paraphrasing) "Congratulations on The Tonight Show, something they can never take away from you. Where miserable failure is not an option"
Freaking awesome!
Conan stands there night after night taking pot shots at all kinds of people during his monologue. It's fun to see him get taken down a notch once in a while. reply share
Yes, every other NBC jab has always been in jest and funny, but Jon Lovitz came across as making a formal complaint that Conan's crew couldn't even hook up a lavalier mic correctly.
And anyway, Conan just seemed to not come across as enjoying the interview; he looked like he started to get a headache, red in the face and slouched over and just not really being playful.
So while I agree with what you said about Norm and Jack Black (he's right, you know! I struggle looking for it all the time) and everyone else—the Jon Lovitz thing was different to me.
I have to disagree. I loved every minute of it. I liked how everyone was involved. Anthony Anderson was great with Lovitz, and Conan has been in show business long enough to take a good jab to the self-esteem for the good of the show.
If you want to talk about insults, how about Wyatt Cenac saying that Conan and Andy were on NBC then they went to sleep and when they woke up they were on TBS. You could feel the air leaving the studio with that one.
