One question about this show

Just started watching season 1, enjoying it so far BUT I can't help but ask this question...if Harvey has all these pulls why not just sent Mike to a law school, pay for it, and have him write the bar since we know Mike will pass, so at least he becomes a legit lawyer??

Think there were several reasons why 1. They only hired from Harvard and Mike went able to go there 2. Mike had taken the before while cheating and more than likely they would hve found out and he wouldn't have gotten to be blue to be a lawyer

It actually wouldn't have been that hard for Harvey especially with his pull. When you get expelled only the current semester credits don't count so that means that he is only one semester away from finishing college. Harvey could have just paid for his last semester and then used his pull to get him into Harvard. If he couldn't do that then send him to any other ivy law school and use his pull to make Mike the exception that Rachel was. While he is in law school he could be a paralegal or an intern how Rachel is (Rachel is Harvey's associate and she is in law school still).

Now as easy as that sounds (and legal) if all that happened it would ruin the plot of the show and there would be no story so that's why.

reply

Mte. So even if Mike doesn't graduate from Harvard, at least it's not illegal to hire someone who attended a different school, but falsely representing yourself as a lawyer is illegal.

But you're right, there wouldn't be a show if they had done this but it's hard to not question the characters' decisions when they're all supposed to be smart.

reply

then you would not have a show called suits....cause that is the whole show.

If I knew what I was doing,it would not be called research.

This is actually explained in later seasons. Keep watching and you'll find out why Mike couldn't go to Harvard. I forget which season touches on the story but it is brought up eventually.
