The fact that they will try to make Mike pass the bar..

.. does this mean that if they do it, Mike's fake degree from Harvard will be legitimized?

Don't remember if when Mike got arrested and in trial it became public knowledge that he doesn't have law degree. Any thoughts?

reply

No. He still won't have graduated from Harvard because he didn't actually go there.
The Harvard thing at PSL is out the door anyway since Rachel is going to Columbia.

Dr Jason Bull: Don't give up on people, they're all we've got.

So if he doesn't have a law degree, why get in all the trouble to pass him through the bar?

reply

He has already passed the bar exam, that was established in episode one, he made a bet with a friend that he's so smart he could pass the bar exam without going to law school, he is not a full member of the bar as he didn't complete the rest of the application such as the ethics interview that Rachel's about to do. The reason that Mike didn't simply complete the bar application and have him working as a sort of apprentice under Harvey in season 1 is the bylaws of Pearson Hardman as it was then known stated that all associates and partners must have gone to Harvard Law School, Harvey decided the only way to employ Mike is fake the Harvard Degree and Bar certification.

Didn't that really hot girl hacked a degree for Mike? Did that get busted in open court or just he's not a lawyer who never passed the bar?

reply

You could take the Bar exam in some states even if you didn't go to law school but you should study under a judge or practicing attorney for an extended period of time. This method is known as "reading law" or "reading the law". The problem is most firms only hires law schools graduate.
